Oxford Elementary School
We decorated 100 bags!
About our project: Our students were excited to complete a global project and get involved with a project outside of our school walls. We had our students work in pairs to collaborate ways of protecting our environment. Thanks Lowes Food in Claremont, NC for partnering with us for The Earth Day Grocery Project!

A Place to Grow
We decorated 18 bags!
About our project: The children enjoyed designing and writing on their bags "reduce, recycle, and reuse". They have a great week creating 3D Trash art, planting flowers for the school, creating a Rock Garden with Parent Involvement, and sharing information with the community to remember Earth Day.

We decorated 342 bags!
About our project: We decided to work with a local grocery store, and they were very accommodating to our request. One of our 5 sites worked with poster paint and I think those bags turned out the best. Be sure to remind teachers and students that the bag still needs to be functional after decorating. Some forgot how the bags worked and glued paper over the bottom flap rendering the bag useless for groceries. NO GLITTER. We also spent too much time working on plans and not enough decorating.
