We decorated 500 bags!

About our project: This year, because of redistricting, we have fewer students in our school than in years past. However, we were able to still do as many bags as in previous years because the students are excited about participating in this project. They love seeing their positive message being spread throughout the community.

We decorated 100 bags!

About our project: Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies celebrated Earth Day 2015 at For-Mar Nature Preserve in Burton by completing It's Your Planet- Love It! activities. Daisies earned their Clover petal and decorated grocery bags with Use Resources Wisely messages. Brownies worked on their WOW! (Wonders of Water) Journey and decorated bags with messages about saving and protecting Earth's water supply. The program was held the Sunday before Earth Day and the bags were used on Earth Day at a couple local markets.

We decorated 100 bags!

About our project: Trader Joe's was really great about loaning us any number of bags we needed. They actually gave us enough so that we can do it again next year. One thing that some children did was to cut a white circle out of paper and glue it to the bag - it really made their picture/message "pop". A planning/idea/brainstorming sheet helped them get started.
