We decorated 105 bags!

About our project: We had an earth day celebration on 4/22 and we invited about 80 families in our community. We let them know what the earth day grocery bag project is about and they helped us decorate the bags.

We decorated 125 bags!

About our project: This was our first year taking on the grocery bag project. We were inspired to participate as we would like our school to be a green school. We had an Earth Day playdate spring event at our school and we used the grocery bag project as one of our table activities. The interest in the table was astonishing. We wished we had asked for more bags :)

We decorated 130 bags!

About our project: We had an amazing time with this project. Our local stores were thrilled and asked if we could do this more often than just once a year. Our students looked forward to creating artwork each day they came to school. Thank you for affording us the opportunity to participate in this amazing project.

We decorated 130 bags!

About our project: this being our first time we decided to attempt 130 bags so we would be better prepared for next year. Our local grocery stores were so excited to hear about this project. I cannot begin to express how excited our students were to participate in this awesome project. Thank you for affording our school the opportunity to be a part of this priceless experience project which brings awareness to the importance of nurturing the environment. Happy 45th Earth Day.

We decorated 20 bags!

About our project: Students were so motivated to do this as a culminating activity to wrap up our Environment Unit that was one of our MSDE Model Units used in Howard County MD's curriculum. Our school just became an official Green School and this was a great way to learn about our new mission as a Green School and to share it with others! This was SO motivating for the students, at all ability levels in our first grade class.
