We decorated 25 bags!

About our project: Instead of the grocery bags, my class created bookmarks. With a delay in motor skills it was simpler for my kids to color in all the white in a smaller space of a bookmark. I find some free templates online I simply print out on cardstock then cut the bookmarks out. After the coloring was completed I laminated them and we passed them out at our school library.

We decorated 149 bags!

About our project: This was the third year that our whole school was involved in this fantastic event. We were lucky to be featured on the cover of the "NOW" magazine in our area, the children were ecstatic to see their faces on the front. Safeway, again, was a fantastic partner in getting our Earth Day message out to shoppers.

We decorated 500 bags!

About our project: Our community events crew of our leadership group organized this very successful event. We decorated 500 brown paper bags which were used on Earth Day. The students created a beautiful banner which was proudly displayed both at the school then in the store. We also had daily PA announcements that helped raise awareness of issues affecting our Earth. We received positive feedback from Save On Foods and from members of our community. The students really enjoyed working on this project!!
